The times were tough and the Heaters had to work to make his meat, but like many under privileged communities, sports provided a glimmer of hope, and Danny is as friends played marbles in the afternoon, football in the fall, basketball in the winter as a way to escape the challenges of daily life. Upon moving to Burnsville, Danny quickly became a star on the high school basketball team and made the Burnsville High Bruins a powerhouse thanks to the relentless full court man to man pressure. He came from a family struggling with dreams of a better future, and Stayner knew a record like this could change Danny's life. Coach Stayner was just a few years older than his squad, and he believed Danny he had a talent that could secure him a scholarship to play in college. So he hash to plan a grand gesture that would attract attention and put Danny on the mat. Danny was naturally shy and comfortable with the spotlight, but he agreed with the plan and asked his teammates for their approval, and the plan was set into motion. The team met Danny the ball on every play, and the game turned into a scoring frenzy. The undermanned, widened squad couldn't even inbound the ball in the tiny basement gym, and Danny was automatic, and the points kept pouring in, and the crowd kept cheering, and the points mounted, and Danny couldn't believe what was happening.
