It's February eleventh, twenty twenty six, and I'm your host Ethan Reese. Give me an update on the show. So, first off, I want to thank you all for your support listening. Listening is the greatest support. Sharing on social media, following on social media, emailing whatever you'd like to do has been great help. If you want to do more, there's links in the description. Love to hear from me via emails, social media anyway, I will definitely communicate with you. I'm the one that runs all that. I am a one man show, and I realized in putting this together it had been a year since I last gave my last update, and my last update was about my son and how it's kind of affected the show and how the show would kind of go on forward. So about a year ago, my son had open heart surgery. He was ten months old at the times. He's almost two now and since then. After open heart surgery, he was in the hospital for less than a week. It's crazy to me to think about he had open heart surgery. They were able to fix his heart to the point where most likely he will not need surgery for the rest of his life. He will be a normal kid. For the rest of his life. Most likely doesn't mean for sure. As he grows, you know, things can happen. He's got to be monitored periodically, just as he would you know with any major surgery. He's gonna live with a scar that goes across his chest, similar to the scar if you've ever seen Sean White look up his car. You can see it online, same exact scar my son has. And it's been a difficult time, you know, ever since he was born. We were not ready for it, him to have a congenital heart defect, and it was hard for us to understand, comprehend, cope everything. We had two little girls at home as well, adjusting to life like this. Since his surgery, we have lessened his doctor's appointments. He used to be multiple a week, different kinds of doctors going to see and now we're down to once a month, maybe two times a month, and just therapies. So he gets three types of therapies every week because he's lay and behind, because he spent multiple months in the hospital with a heart defect. And this was crazy. What was crazy about it is I started this podcast before he was born. I started about three months before he was born. I had planned to go every single day. I was happy about it, excited about it. I had a plan even though I knew he was coming. I had batched episodes ahead of time. Total, I had sixty one episodes ready to go when he was born, meaning I didn't have to record. They were all edited, ready to go. I was ahead of the game. We were in the hospital for sixty one days, same amount of episodes. It seems serendipitous. I was thinking about stopping the podcast, but it really allowed me an outlet while I was in the hospital, an option to continue to grow, to continue to learn, and it helped me a lot through the process. And as you guys, continuing to listen really does help. Even if you don't reach out and communicate, which I love to reach out and communicate. I loved it. But even if you don't, you just listen. It actually gets back to me and I feel it and it means a lot. So thank you for listening. Thank you for helping me through this time. You may not know you helped me, but you did. You helped me have something outside of my son. My son, I give all my love, I give my family all my love, but to just focus on that people go insane, and I didn't want to go in say so, thank you, thank you, thank you. That's what I wanted to say. And I also want to say that I'm going to try to make some changes to the show, but I want to hear from you. I keep saying I want to hear from you, because I do. I do want to hear from you. Email Daily Sportshistory at gmail dot com or go to the website Daily Sportshistory dot com and you can leave a voicemail or leave a message on there in the contact section, or you can go to all our social media's where Daily Sports History on YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook. We'd love to hear from you wherever you like to socialize or however you like to reach out. What you liked is about the show, what you think could be an improvement. Where you want the show to go. Do you want it to dive into do a dive into huge iconic moments and focus on one player from that, or do you want it to be more obscure moments where it's like something you've never heard of or something way in the past that shaped what we have today. I'm trying to find unique ways to come at the stories. But I want to hear from you. I know previously we've done trivia questions at the beginning, and we've done shout outs to other podcasts, So just things that you think you liked or you didn't like. I like to hear from that, and it means a lot that you're listening, that you're following, that is huge if you want to share it again, great momentum. I'm really hoping we can continue this Monday through Friday schedule has been working really good for me, really good for my family. But if we continue to grow, then we can. Then I can go two more days and include Saturday and Sunday, and we can have even more shows that for you to consume and for you to enjoy, and I can put even more work into this because just so you know, this is my show. I'm Ethan Rey. I'm the host, as you know, but I'm also the editor, the producer, the researcher, the marketer, everything that goes into putting a podcast together. That's what I have to do. I love it, I enjoy it. It's been a great thing that I get to do. But I also want to make it better that's why I wanted to reach out give you an update on what's going on. But I want to help make it better and to hear from you is how I can do that. So again, thank you, thank you, thank you for everything, thank you for the support, thank you for the encouraging words. If you reach out about my son, if you have questions, you have someone that's going through a long hospital stay with a child, or could you know a heart defect, I would love to hear from you then too. I know that's not what this podcast is about, but it's something that it's very hard hard to find a community for and I would love to reach out. I would love to hear from you if you have that issue too. I'm a person. I don't justs cover sports. I also learn and think and happy about other things as well. So I want to thank you for listening. We've got a couple more shows this week and then we'll continue. I might add in some unique different kinds of shows. I just want to hear from you what you think, and I'm looking forward to hearing from you, and I'll see you on the next one.
